Ottawa announces $13 million to support programs for Canada’s coastal habitats on World Oceans Day

VANCOUVER — The government marked International Oceans Day on Saturday by way of saying $13 million in new investment for Canada’s coastal ecosystems.

Federal Fisheries Minister Jonathan Wilkinson says the cash would enhance an extra 24 initiatives below Ottawa’s Coastal Recovery Fund to lend a hand repair habitats alongside Canada’s shorelines.

It’s the 3rd instalment allotted to the fund, which has prior to now supported 40 initiatives around the nation.
